3.1. Dynamically generated WWW pages
Increasingly, authors (of WWW pages) want to generate WWW pages dynamically.
Maybe the author has a WWW form to collect data from the visitor and wants to return a WWW page that depends on that data.
One way of generating information dynamically is to get the webserver to execute some code that generates HTML.
Possibilities include:
a CGI script,
a PHP script,
an Active Server Page,
some code written in Java (a
servlet
),
a JavaServer page,
and so on.
